Ann Wilson of Heart Announces Cancer Diagnosis, Tour Postponed

by Krystal

LOS ANGELES — Ann Wilson, lead singer of rock band Heart, has revealed she is battling cancer, prompting the postponement of the remainder of the band’s Royal Flush Tour. Wilson underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth and is now preparing for preventive chemotherapy, necessitating a hiatus from performing to focus on her recovery.

In a statement on Tuesday, Wilson expressed her regret to ticket buyers and assured them of her intention to return to the stage in 2025. All previously purchased tickets for the postponed shows will be honored, with rescheduled dates to be announced soon.

“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing,” Wilson affirmed, concluding her statement with a request for privacy on the matter.

The tour’s postponement affects over 50 scheduled shows across the U.S. and Canada, including performances with Def Leppard and Journey, though details on their involvement in rescheduled dates have not been confirmed.

Heart, co-founded by Wilson and her sister Nancy Wilson, gained fame with hits like “Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” and “Alone,” and received a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy in 2023.
